NV Tip 1: Trim Split-Ends
If you have sun-damaged hair that feels dry and has a straw-like texture, it’s time for a trim. And not just because your hair actually grows 10 to 15 percent faster during the summer months but waiting too long can cause split ends to creep upwards and cause further damage. One inch or less is enough to create shape and get rid of the split-ends, a great jump-start to really caring for your hair.
NV Tip 2: Pat Your Hair Dry
Aggressive towel-drying just isn’t good for your hair. Always pat your hair dry (without a hairdryer), but don’t rub it as this causes friction & is the number one culprit in terms of promoting damage. Instead of rubbing your wet and fragile hair with a towel, simply press a towel over wet hair in order to take out some of the moisture.
NV Tip 3: Take a Break From Heat Styling
Try using an air-drying product like a Dry Moroccan Oil Texture Spray that will help you achieve a style without using hot tools. Air drying is the least damaging styling option, and you should give your hair a break from the dryer & straighteners as often as possible.
